Intro – My previous cell phone did not have Bluetooth so at that time I wasn’t really interested in Bluetooth Headsets. Now that I have one with that feature I have to wad through the enormous amount of junk to find some good sounding, high quality, feature rich headsets. There are many out there from Motorola, Jabra, Plantronics, Aliph, and many more. When I saw the Southwing SH505 online I instantly had an interest in the device.

Design – I am a big fan of the design of this headset and have to say it’s one of the better looking bluetooth headset amongst the many headsets on the market. The SH505 has a nice dark color with accents of silver, which gives off a very professional style. The headset feels quite comfortable in ear and is lightweight without feeling cheap. Made of very good materials the headset is built to last for a long time.

Features – The headset is being feature as the first headset available with a PC application. This allows you to update the headset to work with new mobile phones not yet on the market. Also allows you to adjust the main settings on the headset. This is something that I think all handset makers should adopt but if you want it now then get the Southwing SH505.

Expect talk time to be around 10 hrs with 300hrs of standby time. The headset weighs a mere 12 grams.

Sound – I have tested the headset in several environments to test how good the quality of sound is. And by most accounts the sound quality was very good. The people on the other line did not notice that I was on a headset and could hear me clearly. The SH505 also did a good job of reducing background noise.

Conclusion – The Southwing SH505 Bluetooth Headset is arguably one of the best headset you can find for the price you pay for it. I definitely say it’s above average compared to other headsets in this price range. Its feature set is impressive, cool looking design, and performance makes this a nice buy for anyone looking for a good headset.
